How to Get Marketing Strategy to Get Low Content KDP Book Sales

Hey, everyone,  I'm gonna show you a KDP low content book opportunity that you might not  have thought about to bring in some extra sales.  And what's good about this is that it doesn't involve any tricks,  doesn't involve using paid ads or being an expert in keywords or even cover  designs,  which I know are the biggest things a lot of self-publishers like yourself  struggle. So a few months ago,  I did a video on prompt journals where I highlighted this one, publisher,  Jacqueline Kademian who was killing it with a book called Soul Therapy  in the prompt journal niche. At that time,  this one book was making around 4 to 7 thousand dollars a month,  which I think you'll agree is quite incredible. Then,  after I published the video,  I got a few comments that this book wasn't really representative because the  author was an established therapist and so had customers and had  established social media platforms. I.e.  Reasons why this wouldn't work and you couldn't get these sorts of results going  into this niche. Now,  I get a lot of this and that is reasons why someone else is doing better and  why it won't work anymore. And why this whole business is saturated and dead.  However, with a small mindset shift,  you can change your perspective and look at this as actually being a big  opportunity. And here's how.  Publishing on Amazon is like any online business.  You need a source of leads or a source of traffic in order to make sales.  Becasue if nobody sees what you have to offer,  then nobody's going to buy what you have to offer.  Now that's before you even get into things like cover designs, descriptions,  and pricing. So why not tap into someone else's leads,  traffic or customer base,  whatever you like to call it and leverage the work they've already done.

Now,  12 months ago, I worked with an alternative therapies business in Canterbury,  in the UK,  who approached me for help about creating low content books for their business.  A business that already had lots of clients or customers.  And this was basically a branded health log book for recording things like  symptoms, feelings, treatments in et cetera.  Now that's something that their clients could use and could buy direct from  Amazon, the business benefited and the client benefited, which was a win win.  Now I personally love of these types of log books.  99.9% of my books are log books. They don't need fancy cover designs.  Interiors are easy to create and best of all, they are evergreen,  which hopefully means continued sales for years to come.  And unless you do something crazy,  you are unlikely to get copyright or trademark claims on them either.  So this idea.  Create low content books for people and businesses who already have an  audience. But Paul, I don't know,  any of these business owners are not involved with these businesses. Well,  this is where Google is your friend. First.  Think about the sort of businesses that may want these types of books.  For example, doctors clinics,  use them for things like blood pressure monitoring, glucose monitoring,  symptom monitoring, specific particular illnesses say diabetes or fibromyalgia.  Then there's alternative therapies, massage therapists, physical therapists,  personal therapists, gym owners. In fact,  if you can think of some good suggestions that will help our community,  then let me know in the comments below.  And whilst you're there just hit the thumbs up. It does help a lot. Now,  essentially these would be businesses that have clients that would benefit  from filling in and recording data into a book. Now, yes,  you could argue that an app on a cell phone might be better,  but that would cost a lot more to develop and would require a lot of investment  up front by the business. So,  after you've decided on the business area to target, next,  go over to Google in whatever country you choose,  it doesn't even have to be your own country. So for example,  let's choose a business, say personal trainers.  Now we have to pick a location.  And this is important if we are going to get listings for the businesses we want  to target. In this case,  let's choose Denver in Colorado in the US.  Now enter this into the search bar, scroll down.  And this is the section you want here where it lists the businesses.  And usually next to a map, as you can see here on the right.  You can click on more businesses to expand the list.

Now you have a list of leads or potential businesses that may want their own  designed log book or journal designed with their wishes in mind and  theircustomers in mind. So you could go through this list, go to their website,  find an email contact address, and contact them.  It wouldn't cost you anything to go through this list and send emails,  except for your time. Write to them with the service you could offer,  show them samples of work you could create, mockups of your books.  Explain the benefits to them and our clients and how it would help build their  brand and build client retention.  And you would do it in return for share maybe 50:50 splitting profits.  It wouldn't cost them anything upfront.  It would be a risk free proposition for them.  You would obviously have to discuss with them what their requirements would be  for the content of the book and the cover. You would then create the book,  publish it on Amazon via the KDP platform.  The business would then recommend the book to their clients or point them to  Amazon, where they could purchase it directly.  Now every month you could then send up a screenshot or print out book sales  for that particular book from your KDP dashboard,  with a check or bank deposit of their share of the profits.  Now this is a win for the business, win for their clients and a win for you.  You're not only taking advantage of their customer base,  but also the business' marketing platform and social media they have already set  up and have probably taken years to build.  Eventually you might start to get clients by word of mouth,  providing that is you do a good job. Now, also something worth bearing in mind.  With sales, your books would also climb the organic rankings on Amazon.  And if they are not specifically branded books you may find they start to get  organic sales too, which is extra sales and an extra bonus.  Now this is just a brief overview of the opportunity.  And you could take this as far and wide, as you wished.  It's obviously going to take work. No doubt on that.  But it opens up the possibility to build yourself a publishing business around a  more traditional model could.  You go on to building yourself a website and team of creators.  If things really took off and you might need to look at things like having  publishing contracts.  But remember you don't have to worry too much about competitive niches,  saturated niches,  eye catching cover designs and keywords because your piggybacking off your  client's work and not relying on getting your books found on the searches on  Amazon or running Amazon ads campaigns. Now,  if this inspires you and you want to get started in this business,  then why not take a look at this playlist here where I cover all the steps to  getting started creating and publishing your very own first book.  Thank you much for your time. It's very much appreciated.  Don't forget to hit the at subscribe button and until next time, goodbye.
