HOT.! KDP Low Content Book Niche for 2022

Publishing KDP low content books on Amazon is a great way to make  money online and to build your very own publishing business. And in this video,  I'm going to show you a KDP low content book niche I came across by chance  whilst actually researching another video, that I wanted to share with you,  because I think there's a great opportunity. It has very low competition,  fantastic profit margins, and making a lot of sales. I mentioned before that I use Book Bolt as one of my tools for finding and  discovering new and trending niches. It's not free,  but does bring up some surprising results. And this was no exception as I found,  what I think is a little gem of a niche.  So we are going to evaluate or validate this niche,  discuss the interiors and look at those vital keywords,  essential for getting your seen on Amazon.  Now you can click to a section in the timeline below, but what I recommend is,  is watching all the video so that you understand the niche more.  And what my process is. So here on Book Bolt in the cloud tool,  I was scrolling down and found this book here, a genealogy organizer.  This is a book that people use to do research and record details about their  family tree. And on first sight,  it looked interesting because of this low best seller's rank.  And also interesting because I hadn't seen this particular book or niche before.  So what I normally do is then head over to Amazon and put the title of the book,  genealogy organizer,  which appears to be a good generic keyword into the search bar on Amazon.  First of all, I want to know what the competition looks like.  And for this,  I look at the number of search results and this is in the All category and not  the Books category. In this case, it's 292, which is great.  What I normally look for are search results of 1000 or less.  What I've found if that's the case,  is that it's easier to get a book ranked on the first page of Amazon in the  organic rankings. Now,  the next thing I ask myself is whether there are potential sales being made in  this niche.  So I look for three or more books on the first page on Amazon with bestsellers  ranks of less than 300,000.  That just tells me whether sales are being made and whether there is an actual  market for a particular niche. Now, although we only have this one KDP book,  we do have these other products or related products here with best sellers ranks  of less than 300,000.  And the best sellers rank of our main book is so low it will be a niche  that I think has huge potential.

Then I want to know what are the chances of ranking organically on the first  page of Amazon. That was partly answered by the low number of search results.  But if we scroll down, we can get more information. I'm looking at other books,  and if they are using the keyword in this case,  genealogy organizer in their titles.  i.e Are their products optimized for the keywords and keyword search.  If we scroll down,  there is no other product using this particular keyword in their titles.  So for a properly keyword optimized book,  and that means a keyword in the title and related keywords in the subtitle and  seven keyword boxes.  This could be a great opportunity to get a book ranked organically  on the first page.  Now you'll notice I used the word opportunity and not  certainty.  When it comes to entrepreneurship and getting your products found on a third  party site like Google, Amazon, or eBay,  there is an element of uncertainty that we have no control over.  You could do everything perfectly and your book still doesn't appear or  sell. And you know, that could be for whatever reason.  But what we are doing is looking for an opportunity and then putting the odds in  our favor. Now, if it's certainty you are looking for,  then you are probably better off having or, you know, getting a job.  Although what the last two years has shown us is that this isn't a certainty  either. Now let's get back to our page.  I also look at the numbers of reviews that products on the first page have.  Now this first page does have a lot of products with a decent number of reviews.  So that is something to factor in. Now, personally, it wouldn't put me off,  but you know. It might others. Okay.  Next thing I do is take a closer look at the books that are selling well,  see what the profits look like.  And if we can glean any interesting intel that might help with evaluating the  niche, creating the interiors or promoting the book. First of all,  the profit margin and income from a book.  The profit margin is useful to know to work out the overall income and to see  what the potential for running ads on a book is if there is high profit per  book, then that gives us more flexibility if we do want to run ads.  In this case, the price is $8.95. If we take a look here on Tangent Templates,  the profit margin at this price for 108 page book is $3.22,  which is excellent.  So there is something to play with if deciding to run an ad campaign.  The best sellers rank is 8,635. By the way,  the information that appears at the bottom of each book.  And as I hover over a book is from a free Chrome plugging called DS Amazon Quick  View. If we take that number,  put it into this book sales calculator at tckpublishing.com.  We can see that this particular book is selling between 423  to 840 per month,  which at a profit of $3.22 per book means this book is making  between 1$,362 and  $2,704 per month. And that is pure profit.  Those are the royalties that you would receive into your bank account each  month, which I think you'll agree is pretty good. And from my experience,  these figures for royalties are usually at the higher end of these book sales  calculator numbers. Now, something to note with this book,  it doesn't appear to be ranking organically for its main keyword on the first  page, only a sponsored ad. But it does have a low bestseller's rank.  So all sales could be coming from the ad or other related  keywords where it is ranking highly organically,  or sales are coming in from another place such as maybe a forum or  Facebook group. This seller does in fact have their own website, which is a,  you know, a good marketing tip for you guys. Also,  it is the only KDP book on the first page.  So you could argue customers don't want a product in this format,  or this could be an underserved niche.  The low bestsellers rank indicates it may well be an underserved niche in this  particular format.  I'll do a bit of advanced keyword research in a moment and see if this gives us  a better idea of demand by looking at the number of searches on Amazon per  month. If we look at the sales page,  this free plugin I have installed Helium 10 shows that the best sellers rank  remains relatively constant and appears to drop around the end to the beginning  of each year. I like to have a look at the reviews,  especially the negative reviews,  to see if there are any areas of the book we could improve on which could give  the book an edge or good selling point. An interesting thing is,  is that this book is listed as part of a serious click on the link.  And we can see that there are some other books published in this niche that have  reviews. So must be making some sales. But a pro tip here.  Look at the keywords  these books are using in their titles and subtitles and make a  note of these as they are useful for doing keyword research. Click on,  look inside and take a look at the interior to get an idea of what it looks  like. Now here's a little bit of bad news,  but also a tremendous opportunity.  How you see this news will depend on your mindset and long term publishing  goals. If you're in it to create lots of books in the,  in the shortest period of time and make a quick buck,  then this is probably not for you. The issue is this.  I couldn't find a ready made source for the interiors,  which means you would have to create the interiors yourself.  It might take you one or two days tops or quicker if you're experienced  in creating interiors. However,  it is a lot quicker than writing a 40,000 word book,  and you would have a greater chance of making money from it.  Believe me on that one. But this downside is an opportunity.  It means that the barrier to entry is higher,  which means your competition will be lower and it cuts out those spamers  flooding the market with low quality books to make a quick dollar.

I would look at this interior and some of the other books listed under different  keywords and also look at some of the printables available on a site,  such as Etsy or Pinterest to get inspiration for creating a good  interior. Note, I said inspiration and not copy.  You could even take the interior you create yourself and sell it as a printable  or interior on a site like Etsy or Creative Fabrica. Okay.  Lastly, and vital to getting sales, the all important keywords.  Now I'm not going to go into depth on how I do keyword research for a niche.  I've already done that and I'll leave a link to a video in the description below  where I show you the exact steps I go through for finding low competition  keywords. Those golden nuggets.  I've already done the research on this niche and found 52 keywords with their  number of search results on Amazon and the number of monthly searches per month,  where available.  And this list of keywords is actually available to download free of charge in my  Gumroad shop, which I'll leave a link in the description below.  So that will save you some work and is a great starting point for delving deeper  into this niche.  But what I want to do is just a little bit of advanced keyword research and get  an idea of the actual search numbers per month on Amazon in this  niche to get an idea of customer demand. So for this,  we're going to need to use a paid tool.  The two main ones for this that I use are Publisher Rocket and Helium 10.  And today we'll use Helium 10.  If you're interested in checking it out I'll leave a link to it below.  I've entered genealogy organizer  and here it says 93 searches a month which is actually  on the low side. But if we scroll down and look at some other keywords,  we've got genealogy notebook here with 615  searches per month, which is much more like it.  Let's put that keyword into Amazon. 1000 search results. That's good.  And here is the same book listed on the second row on the first page.  And it's an organic ranking.  Now this is what I suspected as mentioned earlier.  The low best sellers rank wasn't necessarily due to the sponsored ad.  It is in fact listing highly on page one for a much more searched for  keyword. So you see how useful doing keyword research can be.  We can get a lot of useful information from it. So,  for this niche in summary, we've got a niche that is being searched for,  is selling well, has low competition,  great potential profit margin and doesn't have competition that is highly  optimized for its keywords.
